| Frank J. Bickford, formerly in the wallpaper
business on Congress street, and Miss Mary
Lane, proprietress of a boarding house at the
corner of Bridge and Islington streets, were
quietly married in this city on Wednesday. The
bride was a former resident of Medford, Mass.,
and Arlington, Mass., and has been a resident
of this city about eight years. After a short
wedding trip to Wolfboro Centre, Mr. and Mrs.
Bickford will take up residence here. |

| THIS NOON'S FIRE |
| The Maplewood apparatus was called out at 11.45 o'clock today by an alarm from box 72 located at the corner of Salem and Beach sts for a brush fire in the rear of councilman C. A. Wescott's home at 930 Salem st. The firemen spent over two hours in extinguishing the flames. The damage was slight. |
ANNUAL OUTING SONS OF VETERANS |
Geo. H. Patch camp, Sons of Veterans will take part in the annual outing and field day of the Sons of Veterans, to be held Labor day at Lilly Pond Grove, Saugus.
A fine list of sporting events has been arranged, silver cups and other prizes to the value of $100 will be given. |

| JOSEPH AHERN DIED AT BOSTON HOSPITAL |
| Joseph Ahern of 279 Medford st. died yesterday morning at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, after an illness of about six months. A complication of diseases was the cause. The deceased was born in Charlottetown, P. E. I., 24 years ago and has made this city his home for the past 15 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception church and the burial will be at Holy Cross. Two brothers and four sisters are left to mourn his loss. Mr. Ahern was one of the best known young residents of Edgeworth and had a large circle of friends. |
