FUNERAL WILL BE TUESDAY MORNING
Anthony A. Doherty, Jr. Died Saturday After Long Illness

Anthony A. Doherty, Jr., died Saturday afternoon at the home of his parents, corner of Main and Chestnut streets, after an illness of several years. He was born in Woburn December 30, 1892, the son of Anthony A. and Josephine Carroll Doherty.

The young man has been afflicted with heart trouble for many years and his death was not unexpected. He was a member of the Woburn Council K. of C. and was very popular with all who knew him. His father was at one time proprietor of the Central House and is now engaged in business in Boston.

Besides his parents, he leaves three sisters, [E]ileen, Eunice and Margaret, and four brothers, Charles, Joseph, Edward and Harry. The Knights of the Sacred Heart who acted as escort for the body of Joseph Garvey paid a visit to the Doherty home, in uniform. Charles Doherty, a brother of the deceased young man, is a member of the society.

The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Charles Church.

Anthony A. Doherty, Jr., was laid to rest this morning at Calvary Cemetery, Montvale. The funeral procession was one of the largest seen in Woburn and two baronches were piled high with floral pieces.

A solemn High Mass was sung at St. Charles Church, Rev. Frances G. Russell officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Walter A. Fegan and Rev. Michael Doherty.

The bearers were eight intimate friends of the deceased young man. They were: Alderman Dennis P. Hogan, Thomas Kenney, Walter Carroll, Patrick McCarron, Edward Kenney, John Ball, William O'Brien and Ralph Moreland.

DIED IN SOMERVILLE
William Veno died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Edward Trahan, Inman Sq., Somerville last Thursday aged 79 years. Mr. Veno was a resident of Weymouth for about 50 years, but for the last eight years has made his home with his daughter in Somerville. He is survived by four sons, John, of North Woburn, Thomas of Newton, Matthew and Benjamin of Weymouth, and two daughters, Mrs. Edward Trahan of Somerville and Mrs. Edward Joyce of North Woburn. Funeral was held from his late home with Mass in Patrick's church, Somerville, Saturday morning. Interment was at Weymouth.
