Cambridge Chronicle, 9 August 1924
| John Ahearn, of 20 Boylston street, for many years a guide to visitors in Harvard square, was
found on the sidewalk on Baldwin street about midnight Monday night in an unconscious condition. He was
removed to the municipal hospital where he died about 3 o'clock the following morning. At first the police
authorities were inclined to believe that he had been robbed and thrown from an automobile, but an autopsy
indicated that death was due to alcoholism. Ahearn was about 50 years old. |

DANIEL P. O'BRIEN FUNERAL SATURDAY |
The funeral of Daniel P. O'Brien will take place Saturday morning with solemn high Mass of requiem at ten o'clock at St. Charles Church.
The passing of Mr. O'Brien brings an unusual spirit of sadness into the minds of people of this community as he was a man who by his kindly acts endeared himself to all acquaintances. It has been known for some time that Mr. O'Brien's health prevented him from taking part in many duties which have been his as president of the Woburn Machine Co. Much of his work was on the executive side of the business. He was a very successful selling agent of the company, having many friendships in this country and abroad.
Deceased is survived by his wife and three daughters, Rose, Mary and Gladys, all of Woburn. |
