| DOHERTY FLAHERTY |
|---|
| At a pretty Fall wedding ceremony performed on Sunday evening in St. Charles' Rectory, Miss Elizabeth Marie Flaherty became the bride of Joseph E. Doherty. Miss Flaherty is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Flaherty, and Mr. Doherty is the son of Mrs. Anthony Doherty of Pleasant Street, this city.
The bridal couple were attended by the bride's sister, Miss Anna Flaherty, as bridesmaid, and the groom's brother, Mr. Edward Doherty, as best man. The bride was beautifully gowned in a white satin wedding gown, and a tulle veil, cap shaped, fell in graceful folds and was fastened with orange blossoms. She wore white moire slippers and hosiery and carried a bridal bouquet of bridal roses and lilies of the valley. Her bridesmaid, Anna Flaherty, wore a French model of honeydew chiffon with a matching hat of panne velvet. She wore contrasting slippers and hosiery and carried an arm bouquet of talisman roses and larkspur. Following the ceremony a reception was tendered the couple at the home of the bride's parents, to immediate friends and the family. Fitzpatrick Brothers of Malden catered. The young couple then left on a wedding tour of Canada and Niagara Falls. A wealth of beautiful wedding gifts was on display. A number of her friends tendered the bride a novelty shower on Friday evening and presented her with numerous gifts so dear to the bride-elect. Both young people are very well known in this city. The bride graduated from Woburn High School with the class of 1923. Since then she has been employed as a bookkeeper in Cambridge, Mass. |
