Realtors in Tribute to E. F. Slattery
Members of the Lowell Real Estate Exchange at a special meeting last night appointed a committee to draw up resolutions in memory of Edward F. Slattery, who died Sunday night and who had held every office in the exchange and was a member of the advisory committee at the time of his death. He also was a member of the board of directors of the state association and this body was officially notified of his death last night. The resolutions committee includes John H. Murphy, Joseph Green and George E. Burns, while the delegation to the funeral will include President George E. Burns, Walter E. Guyette, John H. Murphy, Sherwood G. Coggins, Michael J. Sharkey, Michael F. Doherty, William D. Leggat and John C. Percival.

JAMES HAYES
James Hayes, a resident of this city for the past 35 years, died Saturday at his home, 36 Griffin street, after an illness of several months. Mr. Hayes was widely known and respected by many friends, especially in the Sacred Heart parish, where he lived many years. For several years prior to his retirement, he was an employee of the Waterhead mills. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. James Sheedy and Mrs. John F. McInerney, both of lowell; two brothers, Denis and Thomas Hayes in Ireland; a niece, Mrs. Leo Rynne; five nephews, John L. and Martin J. McInerney, Martin H. O'Connor, Thomas and James J. Sheedy, Jr., all of this city. The body was removed to the McDonough funeral home, 14 Highland street.
ERNEST AMES
Ernest Harmon Ames, husband of Mrs. Sarah Jane (Connelly) Ames, died suddenly Saturday night at the family home, 25 Liberty street. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Wesley, Ernest, Earl Hyman, and Francis L. Ames; three grandchildren, Cynthia, Sally and Wesley Ames, Jr., also several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Lowell Lodge No. 615, Loyal Order of Moose, Boston papers please copy.

KILLS SHARK AT FALL RIVER
FALL RIVER, Aug. 25. (INS)—A seven foot shark, which weighed about 850 pounds, was caught in the run-way of the Crown-Inshield ship yard on the Taunton river near here today by Austin Bellanger, 25, who pulled it out of the water with a pair of ice tongs after knocking it senseless by hitting it over the head with the tongs.
JOHN CUNNINGHAM
John Cunningham, a resident of this city for the last 40 years, died Monday at the Chelmsford Street hospital. He leaves no known relatives. The body was taken to the Meehan & Kirwin Funeral home, 228 Worthen street.
