| The funeral of Mrs. Julia (OHearn) Holland, 91 Crawford street, a resident of Lowell for many years, took place this morning at 8 30 o'clock from the O'Donnell funeral home, Pawtucket street at Fletcher. The cortege proceeded to St. Rita's church where at 9 o'clock a funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. Francis L. McGrath. The choir, under the direction of Mrs. J. C. Goodwin, sang the Gregorian mass, the solos being sustained by Mrs. Warren P. Riordan, Miss Dorothy Callahan, Mrs. Frank Kappler, Joseph McAvinnue and John J. Flynn. Mrs. Goodwin presided at the organ.
Among those in attendance at the mass were the following members of the Blessed Virgin sodality of St. Rita's church: Mrs. Thomas Keefe, Mrs. Thomas Brosnan, Mrs. John Fenlon and Mrs. Joseph McDonald. There were many floral tributes and many mass cards. The bearers were Conrad Rondeau, Joseph Quinn, Leo Carter, Gerard Alexander, Rudolph Rondeau and Michael Welch. At the grave, Rev. Fr. McGrath read the committal prayers and burial was in the family lot in St. Patrick's cemetery, under the directions of Undertakers James F. O'Donnell & Sons. |
