Retired Army Captain Dies

Edward R. Neville, Sr.,
Veteran of Three Wars
   LOWELL—Edward R. Neville, retired U. S. Army captain, husband of Julia N. Barry Neville, and a well known resident of the Pawtucketville section, making his home at 187 Avon street, died this morning at the Harvard private hospital after a lingering illness. Born in Ireland, the son of the late Richard and Joan (Lynch) Neville, he came to this city as a youth.
   He was a veteran of the Spanish American war, the Philippine Insurrection, the Mexican war and World war I. He was retired in May of 1932.
   Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Miss Virginia M. Neville, a son, Lieut. Edward R. Neville, Jr., retired U. S. Army; one grandson, Richard E. Neville, and several nieces and nephews.

DEATHS
ANDREW C. JENKINS
   A native of this city, Andrew C. Jenkins died in Bristol, N. H., on Saturday after a short illness. He left Lowell five years ago to reside with his daughter, Mrs. Arthur G. Johnson. A retired employee of the Boston & Maine railroad at the Middlesex station, Jenkins would have celebrated his 86th birthday anniversary on August 3.
   In addition to his daughter, he is survived by two sons, Andrew C. Jenkins, Jr., personnel manager of the United Elastic company here, and Ralph F. Jenkins, yard foreman of the Pratt and Forrest firm. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Rhoades of Lowell, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Also surviving are four step-children, including Mrs. Daniel Shea and Mrs. Frank Luce of Lowell; two nephews, Andrew G. Jenkins and Bert Rhoades, a niece, Jessie DuBois, all of this city.
JANE O'HEARN
   Miss Jane O'Hearn, a well known and life-long resident of this city, died Saturday afternoon at the Delaney hospital after a brief illness,
   Miss O'Hearn was the daughter of the late James and Sarah (Crowley) O'Hearn and made her home at Bridmar chambers on Fletcher street for the past two years. Prior to that time she resided in the Highlands section, and also in the Belvidere section. She was a member of St. Patrick's church., She is survived by several cousins.
WILLIAM H. DECATUR
   WESTFORD—William Henry Decatur, a resident of this town, Lowell, Chelmsford and Littleton for the past 86 years, died Saturday at the Delaney private hospital, Lowell, following a brief illness. He was the son of John Henry and Hannah (Abbott) Decatur and was born in Barrington, N. H., May 6, 1859.
   During his residence in Littleton, Westford, and Chelmsford, Mr. Decatur attended the Methodist church and for several years had been an attendant of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Lowell. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Edward G. Brotz, and Mrs. Ernest D. Peck of Chelmsford; a son, Joseph H. Decatur of Wayland; five nieces, six nephews, 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
ROYAL F. BARNES
   Royal Frederick Barnes, a native and life-long resident of this city, making his home at 74 Temple street, died suddenly early yesterday morning at St. John's hospital, aged 57 years, 10 months and 12 days.
   For the past 14 years, Mr. Barnes had been employed by Lowell Equipment company as master mechanic. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Alice E. Barnes, with whom he made his home; a brother-in-law, John A. Taylor of Dover, N. H.; and four nephews, John A. Taylor, Jr., of Illion, N. Y., Lieut. Ralph N. Taylor, USA, stationed in California, Donald B. Taylor of Dover, N. H., and Pvt. Raymond W. Taylor, stationed in Alabama.
