| James F. Considine, widely known retired member
of the Lowell police department, died yesterday at
St. John's hospital after a short illness.
Born in County Clare, Ireland, March 1, 1877, he came to this country when a young man and was given a probationary appointment to the local force on March 21, 1911. On Aug. 8, 1916 he became a member of the regular force and during the 30 years of future service he was commended several times for important arrests. He was pensioned from the department on October 1, 1946. The son of the late Lawrence and Susan (Sullivan) Considine, he is survived by a brother, John J. Considine of this city and many nieces and nephews. He made his home at 428 Lincoln street and had been a member of the Sacred Heart parish for over 50 years. |
