MICHAEL J. FLAHERTY
Michael J. Flaherty, age 82, a life long resident of this city, passed away at his home, 6 Valley Road yesterday after a lingering illness.

Mr. Flaherty was born in Woburn, the son of the late Roger and Bridget Flaherty. His entire life was spent in Woburn, and a large part of it in the South End. Mr. Flaherty was employed as a crossing tender for over 30 years, having retired in 1944. Mr. Flaherty's wife, the late Elizabeth (Harkins) Flaherty died several years ago.

Mr. Flaherty is survived by five daughters, all of Woburn, Mrs. James H. Murphy, Mrs. William T. Courtney, Mrs. William H. Flaherty, Mrs. Joseph E. Doherty, and Miss Anna R. Flaherty. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the late home of the deceased, 6 Valley Road, Thursday, September 18, at 8:00 a.m., High Mass of Requiem will be celebrated at St. Charles Church at 9:00 o'clock Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
