Mrs. Annie J. Lafferty, one of Woburn's oldest residents, passed away peacefully at her home, 66 Bedford Road, on Tuesday, June 23, 1953, at 4:10 p.m.

She is survived by her son Dr. John L. Breslin, who had made his home with her in recent years, by her son, William L. Lafferty of North Reading, by two daughters, Mrs. Thomas H. McGowan and Mrs. Hugh E. Marshall, both of Woburn, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lafferty was born on Sheridan Street, this city, on August 20, 1861, the daughter of Owen and Margaret (Grant) Doherty.

She is the last survivor of a well-known family, her brothers Anthony A. and Patrick H. Doherty, having predeceased her by many years.

Members of her immediate family were with her at the end, which came in her 92nd year.

Friends may visit the McLaughlin Funeral Home this evening from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.

The funeral will be held from the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Friday, June 26, at 8:00 a.m. with a High Mass of Requiem at 9 o'clock at St. Charles Church.
