Topic: Copyright Basics and Protecting Your Genealogical Work

Speaker: Charles A. Butts

A joint meeting of the Plymouth County and South Shore Genealogists will be held on October 13th at 1:00 PM at the East Bridgewater Public Library on Rte. 18

The featured speaker will be Charles A. Butts and his topic will be "Copyright Basics and Protecting Your Genealogical Work." Mr. Butts has over 40 years of experience in areas of general management, marketing, and the protection of intellectual property in the publishing and communications industry. He was active in the book publishing industry as Chair of the Copyright Committee of the Association of American Publishers. In addition, Mr. Butts has worked with historical societies and museums to help them to develop their publication programs and to advise them on protection of the intellectual properties in their collections.
