Field Trip: the Massachusetts State Archives at Columbia Point.

The John Curtis Free Library will not have reopened from its summer vacation in time for our first meeting of the season. So…we are heading to the Massachusetts State Archives at Columbia Point. The State Archives are adjacent to the JFK Library and near UMass Boston.

Janis Duffy, the Reference Supervisor at the Massachusetts State Archives, will present a lecture on Probate & Naturalization Records. She will discuss what records are available at the State Archives and how to access them. There will be plenty of time to research these records and any others. Visit the Archives website at: www.sec.state.ma.us to see what other records are available to research.

Carpooling will be available. If you are able to talk a rider or two, or need a ride, please contact Lorraine Roberts, (781-871-4356). We will leave from the Park and Ride in Rockland, opposite Home Depot, at 9:15am.
