Discovering Your German Ancestors

Ellis "Pete" Hayden, Speaker

1:30 p.m. John Curtis Free Library, Rt. 139, 534 Hanover Street, Hanover, MA (781) 826-2927

Have you been procrastinating about your German research? Are you intimidated by what you have heard about researching in Germany? German research can be intimidating because you don't have sufficient knowledge of the different types of records, jurisdictions and handwriting styles. Another obstacle is the boundary changes that have occurred through the years. No doubt, your biggest challenge is the language barrier. This month's presentation by Ellis "Pete" Hayden is sure to give you the tools and confidence to get started on you German research efforts.

For more than 10 years, Mr. Hayden has been a researcher and a staff member of the Foxboro, MA branch of the Mormon Family History Center. He has organized and facilitated many of the research programs for the Foxboro FHC. He has also been coordinator of the Genealogy Seminar series presented by the Foxboro FHC. Mr. Hayden's presentation is an outgrowth of his own search for his family's history.
