Genealogical Society of Allegany County Maryland

The Genealogical Society of Allegany County and the Allegany County MDGenWeb Project are working together to bring you this page. We believe that together we will be able to serve the research community far better than either group can do separately. Let us begin by introducing this year's officers:

• Meetings

  Meetings are held in the Library at Allegany college of Maryland on the third Thursday of each month except January, February, July and August. Meetings in April, June, and October are at 6:30PM; March, May, September and November are at 1:00PM.  The December meeting is a luncheon, time and place to be announced.  The fiscal year is January 1 through December 31.  Dues are $12.00 per year for Individual & Spouse; $100 Lifetime membership

• The Old Pike Post

  The Old Pike Post is published quarterly by the Genealogical Society of Allegany county, P.O. Box 3103, LaVale, MD 21504-3103.  Harriet Moore, editor.

• Library

  The Library of the Genealogical Society of Allegany County is located at 215 Bowen Street, Cumberland, MD on the second floor of the Municipal Services building. The hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9AM - 2 PM. Closed on Cumberland city Holidays, and days that schools are closed because of weather.
