I have been trying for some time to do some additional research on my family in Allegany Co. but have had no success. Perhaps you might be able to direct me to someone who could assist. My ggg grandfather William TAYLOR, married Sarah WARD, they had at least 3 children in Allegany Co., George Russell TAYLOR, my gg grandmother Elizabeth TAYLOR, and a sister name unk. I have the dates of the births of Uncle George and My grandmother Elizabeth, but have had no success finding copies of their birth records. I also need to know all I can about William TAYLOR, I know his father was Major John TAYLOR of Virginia (rev. war) and that they were related to Zachary TAYLOR. I need to fill in the gaps. Sir, can you possibly be of assistance? I do not know were to look. I tried the County records, I tried to find information through state archives, but had no success with assistance. Please advise.
