I am looking for information on my HARDEN/HARDIN/HARDING and HUGHES ancestors. My grandmother was "Bessie" HARDING (b. 1877), who married in Jan. 1902 my grandfather, Thomas HUGHES, an immigrant of Ireland. My greatgrandfather was Frederick HARDING (earlier spellings were HARDEN & HARDIN, b. 1832) married to Julia BAYLES (BAILES) in 1858. Frederick's father was William HARDIN, mother Maria. Some of Wm's other children listed in the 1850 census were
Elizabeth (b. 1830);
Susan (b. 1840);
John (b. 1836);
Mary Ann (b. 1839); and
Harriet (b. 1841). The HARDINGS had come from Someset Co., PA, before settling in Allegany Co., MD.

I know my grandparents are from Western Maryland, their names were Gladstone BROADWATER and Charlotte MICHAEL both born in 1911. Hugh MONTGOMERY (Edward1) was born 7 March 1793 (based on cemetery records), probably in Frederick County, Maryland. He married Allie (Alice) WILSON in Allegany County, Maryland on 24 February 1821. Allie was the daughter of William WILSON and Elizabeth JOHNSON. She was born on 13 November 1803 in Allegany County Maryland.

STEYER, John I need acurate information on John STEYERI; John STEYERII; and John STEYERIII. My information is vague but is as follows: John STEYERI left Prussia, Germany 1700's, settled in Boston and then after 1776 settled in MD. John STEYERII came to MD claimed lot 3409 on the mountain 4 mi east of Frostburg and in 1805 assessed on lot 3604 near Avilton. He owned a farm.
