The 1920 Frostburg, Allegany Co, Maryland census shows this family: Arthur G. RIZER b. about 1878 with wife Mary b. about 1875. They had children (all dates are 'about') Bert A. b. 1904, Loretta b. 1906, Benjamin H. b. 1908, Ruth b. 1912, Myrtle b. 1915, and Clara Rizer b. 1916. Does anyone know the parents of Arthur RIZER? or have more complete dates for this family.

Looking for information on the METTS or METZ'S of Allegany/Garrett County, Maryland. Isaac Newton Walton Metts was born around 1828 in Allegany County, he married Susanna FOUST of Saltlick Township Pennsylvania, they had two sons David and Joseph. I am looking for Issac's parents and siblings, his fathers name was possibly William or "Billy". Sibling names may be Emily,Henry, Mary, Johanna and William.

I am looking for information on the R. L. FRANTZ Produce Company located near railroad tracks in the City of Cumberland. I believe it was in operation during 1913 and operated for many years. The City purchased the land to widen the street (name unknown). Does anyone have any photos of the business or proprietors, advertisements, years of operation, info on the proprietors, employees, delivery routes, etc? Please contact me.

Does anyone have any information of the contruction of Lake Gordon in Bedford Valley, PA? I am looking for famiies who used teams of horses and wagons to carry provisions from the city of Cumberland to the contruction area. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks, Carolyn Frantz

I am looking for any information on the Lashley and Anderson Buses used in Cumberland, MD. I understand that the first one traveled Mechanic Street in 1915. The buses were built by two gentleman, Charles Walter FRANTZ and Dyott BENJAMIN both of Frantz Town (aka Bedford Road now). Seeking any infomation on the buses and builders, photos, advertisements, etc.

Can anyone tell me the name of the school located at the intersection of Bedford Road and Mill Lane. William F. FRANTZ sold land to the Allegany School Board abt 1930, the Board sold the same parcel to a MC ELFISH family, who owned the land for abt 12 years before selling to Fred and Eula MORTZFELDT in 1942.

Looking for further details on the family of George M. DEETZ b. 1835, maybe in Maryland and died 1914. He married Ellen LOWDERMILK (1841-1870.) They married 23 Feb 1864 in Allegany Co, Maryland. They had children: Mary Ethel, and Georgia (who married George R. DAISY.)

I'm looking for information on my GGgrandfather, William BAXTER and his wife Ellen SOMERVILLE, who came to Mt Savage about 1839 from Scotland. They had a son James, born in Scotland, son William, born 1839, Uniontown, PA. Ellen, John, Andrew and Mary, all born in Maryland. Tradition is that William was an engineer with a British mining company in Mt Savage. About 1850, they moved to Illinois where William died in 1852.
