I was wondering if anyone might have information about S.T. Little Jewelry Store in Cumberland, MD during the Civil War period. My great-great-great-grandfather, Arthur A. POOLE, worked for Samuel Little after serving in the 2nd Reg., Potomac Home Brigade, Co. A and Co. H (Little was a Lieutenant). Arthur apprenticed as a watchmaker for several years, then went on to establish his own businesses in Cumberland and later Washington, PA. If anyone has information, postcards, photos, ANYTHING about Arthur A. POOLE or Samuel T. LITTLE, I would be fantastically grateful. I live in Massachusetts & am happy to return the favor for anyone who wants info from up here. Thanks

I would like to ask how to find information on the Tin Mill that was in operation in Cumberland at the beginning of the 20th Century. My Great Grandfather Harry E CHASE worked there as a "doubler" (1900 thru 1930). Interested in knowing about where and what he did there.
Also searching for any record of his father: Cornelius H CHASE, married to an Addie (unknown surname). I only have an 1880 Census record of him living in the rural surrounding countryside of Cumberland.
