I am searching for my great grandmother's brother, whose name is Francis (Frank) Marion PARRISH. I believe he was born in 1848 in what was at that time Hampshire County, Virginia. His father was Josiah PARRISH and his mother was Mary A. SLONAKER. his mother is buried in Headsville Cemetery, Mineral County, West Virginia (aug. 10, 1864) his father is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Christian County, Illinois feb. 22, 1894. He attended the funerals of two of his brothers in Illinois according to their obits. One was George Washington PARRISH who died October 6, 1920. The other was James W. PARRISH who died april 29, 1919. Both obits say brother Frank of Cumberland Maryland. I have searched the census around these dates, but nothing. In 1920 he would have been 72. he was married to a Harriett YOUNG. Any information on this mystery uncle would be greatly appreciated.he had a mystery sister who also went to the same funerals. Her name was Mollie PARRISH BAILEY of Keyser, West Virginia.

Can anyone please tell me exactly on what date the 11th Indiana Zouaves (of Cnl. Lew Wallace fame) occupied Rose Hill? Various sources give various dates and Lowdermilk claims it was June 7th and 8th (as a Sunday and Monday) in 1861, when indeed they were a Friday and Saturday. Clearly he is mixed up. I need to find out in order to help a friend who is writing a book about this. Thanks.
