My great grandfather, Michael PIPER, was originally from Old Town,Allegany Co. MD. He worked as a blacksmith for the coal mines in western MD until his death in the late 1890s. I have no other information about him or his people in Old Town, other than his mother was supposed to have been a full blooded Shawnee Indian. Are there any histories of the 'Pipers of Oldtown' already in existence? It is my understanding that there are many with this surname in that area, and that they are all related.
