Descendants of Col. William Burgess
Col William Burgess was one of the most promient men of Maryland
during the 17th century. He held many public offices including that of the Deputy
Governor. William Burgess was among the orignial settlers of Providence (Anne
Arundel Co.) in 1650. The following is only a partial genealogy, mostly taken from information in Warfield's "Founders of Anne Arundel and Howard Counties in Maryland" and the church records of All Hallows Parish in Anne Arundel Co., MD.
There are several lines of the Burgess family that are not followed in the following group sheets. (i am not sure exactly of all the linages)
