RODERJohn E.7 July 1886RODER John E 7 Jul 1886 On the morning of July 7, JOHN E RODER, aged 10 years, 11 months, and 11 days, only son of John E and Rebecca Roder.
Weep not, mother, weep not, father,
All your weeping is in vain;
Though I leave you bowed in sorrow,
We shall meet in joy again,
Do not mourn because I leave you,
God has called me home to dwell;
Kiss me, mother - you too, sister,
And forever fare thee well.

'Tis a little grave; but oh, have care,
For worldwide hopes lie hidden there.
A father's pride, a mother's joy,
Is buried with our darling boy.
Our dove has flown to the realms above,
And left this sinful world;
He has gone to dwell with Jesus,
And has flown through the gates of pearl.
Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend his funeral, from the residence of his parents, Broadway and Preston street, on Friday afternoon, July 9, at five (?) o'clock.
