Spring Book Sale

On Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., the Friends of the Oxon Hill Library will host their Spring Book Sale. Please be sure to tell your friends to stop by and browse our collection of books, magazines, CDs, DVD, and other items available for sale that day. We will also be selling baked goods as well. 

If you have any used books, magazines, CDs, DVDs that you would like to donate to us toward our sale, please drop them off at the front circulation desk and let them know that your donation is for the Friends' Spring Book Sale. Also, we are in need of books and other reading material geared towards TEENS. Please donate what you can spare so that others can enjoy the pleasure of reading those items which you may no longer use.


On Saturday, May 21, 2016, the Friends of the Oxon Hill Library are sponsoring a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Carnival to be held at the Oxon Hill Library, 6200 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, Maryland 20745. This event is hosted by the Patriots Technology Training Center and Northrup Grumman and will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. Students from all grade levels are welcomed to participate in this event. Pre-registration is encouraged by sending an email to: or calling (301) 925-9350. Also, students can inquire about signing up to participate at the front Circulation Desk in the library. Our hosts will set up 15 different STEM exhibits and host two games Tech Feud (similar to family feud) and social media jeopardy. Additionally, there will be games and other digital tools to have fun playing with such as:

  • Amusement Park Design

  • Call of Duty

  • Designing APPS

  • Drag Racing Games

  • FIFA Soccer

  • Flight Simulation

  • Lan Party

  • Lego Robotics

  • Madden NFL 16Football

  • Making music on your tablet

  • Mine Craft

  • NBA 2k16 Basketball

  • Super Smash Bro

  • Video Game on Drag racing

  • Video Gaming Design

Book Store

The Book Store, managed by the Friends of the Oxon Hill Library, is open during the hours that the library operates. Now, every citizen of the Oxon Hill community and all book lovers can come out and browse through our collection of books, magazines, DVDs, and other items to see what they would like to be a part of their own collection. 

NOTE: A dropbox is available for those who would like to make donations for the items that are picked up in the Book Store.

Friends of the Oxon Hill Library Meetings

The Friends of the Oxon Hill Library announces their Monthly Meeting Schedule for 2016.

Friends meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m., except for July and August, or otherwise advertised. Meeting dates for 2016 are as follows:
