A New Book Outlines Howard County (Maryland) Genealogical Resources Available at Historical Society Library A special publication entitled "Selected Genealogical Resources in the Howard County Historical Society Library" has been published by the Howard County Genealogical Society (HCGS). The new book, published in October 1997, is a compilation of 21 articles that first appeared in the HCGS newsletter, THE FAMILY TREE, from April 1994 to December 1996. Many of the articles describe less-well-known collections at the library which are of special interest to genealogists.
The book's principal author, Doris W. Edwards, is a volunteer at the Howard County Historical Society library, and a member of HCGS. A native of Baltimore County, she has lived in Howard County since 1956. The co-author of the book is Mary K. Mannix, director of the library since 1989.
