About the Society

The Prince George's County Genealogical Society, founded in 1969, is the oldest Maryland County Genealogical Society in continuous existence. It's objectives are to collect, preserve, and disseminate genealogical knowledge and information, particularly that material that deals with Prince George's County, Maryland. The society is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational and cultural organization. Contributions, gifts, and endowments are tax deductible. The Society meets at the New Carrollton Municipal Center the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. We do not meet in July, August, or January

What's New

Important Change of Monthly Meeting Venue - Please Read Carefully

Beginning with our September Monthly meeting (Wendesday, September 2), The Prince George's County Genealogical Society will NO-LONGER MEET at the Greenbelt Library.
Monthly meetings will be meeting at the New Carrollton Municipal Center, 6016 Princess Garden Parkway, New Carrollton, Maryland 20784.

Important Changes to PGCGS Library Hours - Please Read Carefully

Beginning July 2009, the Library will be open the last Saturday of the month by appointment only.
Patrons wishing to use the Library on the last Saturday of the month are asked to leave a message
on the answering machine (301-262-2063) or contact us via email at pgcgs@juno.com.
When leaving a telephone message please provide a phone number or email address so that the appointment
can be confirmed.

The Wednesday hours remain the same: first Wednesday 10 AM to 1 PM and all other Wednesdays 10 AM to 7 PM.
