I am researching the RENDER family name. I have been working on this for over 1 year and have considerable information that I am willing to share. My own research has traced my line back to Joshua RENDER in Maryland around the period 1720+, then to Kentucky through 1990 and on to Indiana. I have additional information on another part of this line that migrated to Georgia. I have a copy of Pearl O. Smith's book "RENDER AND THEIR RELATIVES" which confirms my own research. I also have information sent to me by Father Pat RENDER of Springfield Il. on his family line. This RENDER migration to the US involved the five sons of William and Ann RENDER who emigrated from England (possibly via Ireland) to New York and then settled in Sommerset County, New Jersey. Members of this line later moved on to the midwest. The migration to the US occurred in 1849, at least 100+ years after Joshua was reported in Virginia. I have just learned of a line possibly from Germany or from a German speaking country that came over in 1849. A Charles RENDER who married Mary and lived in NY or CT. I am also aware of the long line of RENDERS in England dating back to 1300s when the name was probably spelled RENDOUR, but I am unable to connect Joshua to the English RENDERS. I also have information on the RENDERS in Ireland and Denmark. I have other RENDER names which cannot be tied to any group of RENDERS. They include Thomas RENDER of Boston, 1728 and his possible daughter Ann RENDER of Boston, 1749. John RENDER is shown on page 17 of "HEADS OF FAMILIES, SOUTH CAROLINA, 1790" as a resident of Claremont County, Camden District, South Carolina. I intend in the next year to enter what I have on the computer probably using the Family Tree History program. I am very interested in starting a dialog with anyone who wants to share information on the RENDER Family -- any RENDER line.
