- I recently found out that Dorcas CLARK's parents were Benjamin CLARK and Mary Wish
Bone-a local Indian maiden. Any ideas? Benjamin died in 1803 and married Rachel CHANEY
(after Mary Wish Bone) in March of 1788. It is speculated that Benjamin and Mary Wish Bone
had seven children including Dorcas CLARK, born 1770. Benjamin is related to Elizabeth
DUVALL and Abraham CLARK. Elizabeth is Mareen the Emigrant's daughter.I am not sure what
tribes of Indians were in PG Co at that time. I believe that the Potamacks were but am not
sure. Did you ever run across the name Mary Wish Bone before? Thank you!

- In Newman's book," Mareen Duvall Of Middle Plantation," page 235, it lists my
ancestor, Marjorie (DUVALL) FERGUSON. Her husband was Josias . On Page 235 of the book, it
states ..."Signing himself as Josias FORGSON, he subscribed to the Patiot's Oath in
Prince Georges County during 1778." ...In 1790 as Josias FURGISON, he was the head of
a family in Anne Arundel County. Does anyone have any informatino on Josias...his birth,

- I'm researching my RISDON surname. My grgrgrandfather, William Joseph RISDON was born in
PG County March 3, 1831 according to death record (in Washington,DC) and his tombstone in
Warrenton, VA. I have not been able to identify his parents or specifically where in PG
County he was born. Did not find surname on US Census prior to 1850 (moved to VA between

- Seeking information on the family and origins of William JEANS or JANES, b. 1742 in PG
Co. MD, d. 1809 in Montgomery Co. KY, m.a. 1766 to Jane ? (1736-bef.1803). William is said
to be the son of William JANES Sr. (c.1720-1796), who appears to have moved to Montgomery
Co. MD, and the grandson of Joseph JEANES (c.1680-1720) of PG Co. He baptized a son
William in King George (St. John's) Parish on 14 Feb 1768, and he was enumerated in St.
John's Parish with wife Jane and three small sons in the census of 1776, two houses away
from his uncle Edward JANES. By 1778 he had moved to Loudoun Co. VA, where he resided
until moving to KY in 1796. I will be grateful for any information or leads to published
or online sources about this early PG Co. family.

- I have just found out that another of my lines originated in Southern Maryland, and have
not had an opportunity to do any research on this name (in MD). Supposedly, John HARRELL
was b. abt 1758 Charles Co., MD. He later moved to VA.....seems like a lot of PG/CH Co.
residents moved to VA between about 1790 and 1820.

- Looking for information about the Thomas and Elizabeth TUCKER who were living in Prince
George County in 1776, with a 22 year old son and 20 year old daughter, and one year-old
grandson? The 22-year old male is listed on the 1776 census as "defective." The
one-year old is about the right age to be my ggg-gf, who was supposedly named after his
grandfather, Thomas TUCKER. My Thomas TUCKER was born in MD, moved to VA where he married
Elizabeth COLEMAN in 1800, and then moved on to Kentucky ca 1808. Elizabeth also was born
in Maryland.
