In 1785, a league of 60 families was formed in Maryland, part from PGC, pledging to emigrate to KY within a specified time. Joseph CLAYTON was one of these pioneers. They went to Nelson County KY to Goodwins' station, and then to Pottinger's station.
Joseph picked up the nickname Matoose in the REV war, because he was assistant to an artillery gunner. His children were William (married Elizabeth NOLIN); John, Joseph, Jace C, Charles(married Barbara HAGAN), Mary "Polly", Catherine, and Sarah. They arrived in Nelson County KY by 1793. Any information you could share with us on our family would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Seek family information on Gunder/Gundar ERICKSON who was in PG Co. MD by 1717, died there 1729. His will gives wife Mary "and heirs" and daughter Martha (under 21) most of his estate, and personalty to William MIDDLETON, Thomas HODGKIN, and Richard DEACON (DEAKINS?. Possibly by 1729, John DEAKINS had married his second wife, Priscilla (said to be ERICKSON) and they had sons Richard, John, and Joseph DEAKINS who were under 18 as of 1743 father's will. Was Priscilla also a daughter of Gunder ERICKSON? John DEAKINS Jr. married Lettice/Letitia ANDERSON (who were her parents??) and lived in Fairfax Co. VA 1770s, Allegany Co. MD later.

Looking for information on great and great-great grandparents. My grandmother Sarah Ellen (WILKINSON)TIPPETT was married to Gilbert Albert TIPPETT in 1919. She was married to his brother John Fletcher TIPPETT in 1900. She was born in 1878. Her parents were George F. WILKINSON and Josephine STAMP. They were all from Prince George's County (Aquasco, Maryland). The funeral home that buried the TIPPETT brothers, Gilbert and John was the Grimes(Grimmes) Funeral home which no longer exists. Can't find any records elsewhere. Any further information would be much appreciated.
