Need information on Robert & Mary DOVE (of the Swanson's Creek area). Robert had a daughter, Mary who married three times (COOK, JOHNSON, REILY). Robert was in the area before PG was formed and remained there until his death, ca 1709. Did Robert have other children? Is Phillip DOVE a son of Robert DOVE? Phillip DOVE was born ca. 1675, died ca. 1725. I am also very interested in any information on Phillip DOVE. I am trying to collect all information on the DOVE Family in Maryland. Apparently Robert and Phillip DOVE lived nead the border of PG and Charles County (Swanson's Creek area). One last question, if I wanted to trace land records in the 1600s and 1700 would it be better to go to the county seat or to the Hall of Records. The identity of the families of Robert and Phillip might be found in land transactions. Robert DOVE was the assignee of Henry THICKPENNY, and Robert owned a tract of land called "Penny's Choice". I will be glad to share any information I have on the DOVES. Thank you.

Dr. John C. BUTLER was born in Maryland in 1795. He was married in Missouri around 1818, then moved to ILLINOIS. He was Catholic. One possible lead for his father is a listing of Henry BUTLER born 18 April 1762 in Prince George Co. He is known to have had a son John. Was it John C? John BUTLER was a very common name in Maryland at that time, so this is a very difficult search. Any leads or thoughts would be appreciated.
