I believe that there was a Hewitt Shipping located in Bladensburg in the early 1720's that traded between London and Bladensburg, using Carthegena Creek in St. Mary's County as a home port. Anyone have any information on this firm and its owner, Benjamin HEWITT(HEWETT)?

Aug 1763: Nicholas DAVIS was christened as the son of Henry and Susannah DAVIS in St Johns Piscataway Parish. Three questions:
1. Can anyone tell me in what part of Prince George County is St Johns Piscataway Parish?
2. Looking for the parents of Henry and Susannah. a. Is Henry DAVIS connected to Nicholas DAVIS of Prince George County? b. Is Susannah's maiden name, HUTCHINS?
3. Henry DAVIS married Mary Norman MORRIS in 1790 in Prince George County. I suspect that she was a widow. Does anyone know Mary's maiden name? or if she was a Morris who her parents were?

I am interested in finding out about Richard GILDERT. I saw his name in the Bladensburg Plat as number 37. I am not sure if this man is related to my family but could use any information on him in order to find out. I have placed my GILDERTS as coming from Nova Scotia and then into the New England states. It is very interesting to find one in the south in the same time period. Although this man is in the Plat I cannot seem to find out what happened to him. Did he stay and raise a family, or did he pass on before he could use his lot? Any help will be appreciated.
