Worcester Documents

The importance of documents to genealogists goes without saying. Without records such as family bibles, wills, or obituaries, we would not be able to trace our ancestors. Because of this, we would like to ask for your help. If you have any family records and wouldn't mind transcribing them, please click on one of the GenConnect links below and add your information.

  • 1790 Census for Worcester County, Maryland: Fred W. Heine transcribed the document with help from proofreader Christine Joye. When you click on the link, you will be taken to a directory listing of two files. All are in plain text format. Click on the indx-a-z.txt file for a listing of all individuals. The other file contains the actual transcribed pages.
  • 1800 Census for Worcester County, Maryland: Cynthia E. Lawson transcribed the document with help from proofreaders Kary Wild and Marta Diaz-Cantu. When you click on the link, you will be taken to a directory listing of four files. All are in plain text format. Click on the index.txt file for a listing of all individuals. The other three files are named for the first transcribed page it contains. (For instance, file pg0178a.txt contains pages 178 through 198. Then file pg0199a.txt picks up where that one left off).
