Reference Books and Lookup Volunteers

See USGenWeb's Official Policy on Lookups at Bottom of Page

If you own any Androscoggin County books, whether listed or not, and will do look-ups, please let David Colby Young & Kevin King know. As you can see, volunteers are needed.

Feel free to request a look-up directly from the following resources. Please limit your request to one name per request. Please put ANDROSCOGGIN COUNTY LOOKUP in the subject line of your request to insure the message is not overlooked or accidentally deleted.

To assist the person in looking up YOUR request, it is extremely helpfull, if not required, to provide the following information as best you can when asking for their help:

1) Names
2) Dates
3) Relationships
4) Locations
5) Reference Book and Author (from the table below)

Also, if you have previously consulted other resources for your search you should provide a list of those sources. Many of our volunteers will take the time out of their busy schedules to consult other sources on your behalf and if you have already done so, you can save their time.

And MOST importantly, if you request a lookup, don't forget to thank your volunteer for their time!

Do you own a Androscoggin County book you would be willing to do lookups in???? If so, please contact David Colby Young & Kevin King

USGenWeb's Official Policy on Lookups

The USGenWeb will not tolerate any copyright violations. Lookup requests should be limited to one name, or perhaps two if it is a married couple. Information given will be minimal, for example if it is a cemetery lookup, the information will be the name of the cemetery and the dates on the headstone. Please do not ask for hardcopies to be mailed; the volunteers have been asked not to comply with such requests.
Our lookups will extend to searching the book to determine if the book would be helpful to you in your research. Should the book prove useful, we can provide the authors address and ordering information.
The USGenWeb Project will endeavor to get a WRITTEN statement from each copyright holder which stipulates which books may be used for lookups.
