Where To Find Records

The following table shows where to find records from the St John River Valley. Records were recorded at the nearest church or town; as more towns were formed, records were recorded in different places.

How to read this table: the leftmost column lists the towns/parishes. The center column gives the first year that records were recorded there. The right column lists the town(s) where such records had been recorded.

For example: An event occurring in what is now Albertine will be found in the Albertine records, for events since 1925, in the St Francois records for events 1854 to 1925, and in the St Basile records for 1792 to 1854.
