Generation No. 2

MARK WILLIAM JAMES ELSON was a soldier in the British Army during WW1, was an Engineer (Mark's WWI Book book in the possession of Douglas Cochrane).d. 22 Dec. 1926 of pneumonia in Hartland,New Brunswick. Funeral Service was held at Holy Trinity Church, officiated by Rev. C. LeRoi Mooers. Worked for "J. Clark & Son" as a machinist in Hartland before he died.
Married: Eleanor Olive Parker. b. 17 July 1886 in Eton Bucks, Buckinghamshire, England (see Census record below). Died 23 Oct. 1968 in Sarnia, Ontario. Buried at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Funeral Service held at St. John's Anglican Church. Eleanor had a sister named Amelia Parker (also listed in Census record below), who married a Jack Mills in England and had two children: Tony Mills and John Mills. The Mills came to Canada aboard the SS Mont Royal departing from Liverpool, and arriving in Saint John, New Brunswick in 1924. They settled in Norton, NB.The Elsons came to Canada aboard the SS Montrose departing from Liverpool, 29 May 1925, arriving in Quebec City 5 June 1925.

Children of MARK WILLIAM JAMES ELSON and ELEANOR OLIVE PARKER:

1. Joan Beatrice Elson. b. approx. 1918 in Kings Norton England.
2. Madge Elson. b. 30 April 1921 in Kings Norton England. Her family came to New Brunswick in 1925, first settling in Norton, then on to Hartland where her Father died. Madge, her sister, and Mother then moved on to many different places because Eleanor was a nurse who specialized in pediatrics and moved from town to town. Madge eventually settled in with her Aunt Amelia (Jack) Mills in Salmon Creek, near Chipman, until she moved to Andover where she met John Cochrane. From Andover, New Brunswick to Sarnia, Ontario in 1949. Member of St. Johns Anglican Church, Sarnia. Married 22 April 1942 at the Trinity Anglican Church to John (Jack) Douglas Cochrane.
