I am the great-granddaughter of Adrastus Combs Warren (A. C. Warren who
raised the alarm about the big fire of 3 Oct 1911). Adrastus is buried in
Old Village Cemetery along with his mother Rowena Combs Warren, his
grandparents Joseph & Sarah Warren and a bit further down in the Cemetery
his father & mother-in-law Richard & Bridget (O'Neil) Harris. I have old pictures but none marked so unfortunately I'm not sure if I have one of
Adrastus. However, Adrastus' father was Hiram C. Warren who at different
times was a Selectman of Canaan. Hiram is not buried in Canaan. He decided to go west with three of his children - Mary R. Warren, Erastus Willard
Warren & Joseph Warren, and died in Oakland, Alameda County, California. ![]() Except for Sarah Pike (whom I don't know who she is although she is living with Hiram on both the 1850 & 1860 Federal Censuses in Canaan) and Julia Spaulding all other people are from Mary R. Warren's marriage to Leland H. Wakefield. (Lily, Rose & Violet Wakefield were triplets.) This plot has no stone. One was never put up which was strange as Hiram's granddaughter Etta Wakefield Wolfenden and his grandson William Wakefield were both doctors. |
