
| [1920] Mr. and Mrs. Rufus B. Williams of Moore's Mill, Canaan,
have reached the 67th anniversary of their marriage. They have been
residents of this place for about half a century. Previous to
that they resided in Burnham. This couple have kept their bodily strength
well. Mr. Williams carried on his farm work until about two years ago and
his wife was able to do her household duties until this fall. Mrs.
Williams is a well read woman and for many years has acted as newspaper correspondent for papers in Bangor and Pittsfield. In earlier
years she used to spin and since those days she kept up knitting and sewing and grew many flowers in her garden. She will be 88 years old in
December and her husband will be 89 in January. Mrs. Williams was before
her marriage Miss Eliza Hutchinson. Her parents were born in Saley[sic], Mass., her mother being Abigail Chandler Hutchinson. Mr. and
Mrs. Williams were the parents of seven children, of whom two are now living, Edwin Williams of Canaan village and George Williams of Moore's Mill, Canaan. Their daughter, Jennie, wife of George Farnham, died
