Postcard of Lake George, Canaan
| This 1905 postcard was sent by Gus (Augustus S. Nelson) to his sister Etta May Nelson (Libby) in Pittsfield. This particular family of Nelsons lived on the east side of the Canaan Bog, actually in Pittsfield, when they were growing up. Gus was at one time a watchman for a factory and Etta delivered the mail by horse & wagon, also sleigh, until she married in 1906. They are distantly related to many of the Canaan Nelsons.
