The 1810 federal census |

Again in 1810 only the head of household's full name was requested by the census taker. Other household members were only listed by age. There were four columns in the census that are not listed here; name of town (which was listed as Newry, Oxford County), a count of the slaves owned, a listing of "all others" in the household and a remarks section. Since there were no slaves in the area, no remarks made and no "others" listed, there is no point in taking up space for those columns on this transcription. The figures below are the best that could be determined from the marginal quality of the microfilm image. In places the count was too dim or sketchy to read. In this case there are dashes around the questionable figure (for example, "-2-"). If the exact figures are important to your research, don't depend on what you see below but try to look at the microfilm yourself. The returns for Newry in 1810 are found on National Archives Census microfilm in series M32, roll 8, page 1074. |
