The following steps will take you to the National Archives page entitled World War II Honor List of Dead and Missing Army and Army Air Forces Personnel from Maine. The list is arranged by county. NOTE: You may want to print out these instructions!
Click on the link below to go to the National Archives' NAIL search page.
First, click on: NAIL Standard Search.
Next, select the box: Only Descriptions Linked to Digital Copies.
In the Enter Keyword Box, type (or paste) in: WWIICASARMY-ME.
At the top or bottom of the page click on Submit Search.
At the top or bottom of the page click on Display Results.
Next, click on Full Results; it's on the right side of the page.
And last (whew!), click on links to digital copies in the middle of the text.
Be sure to read the foreword - it explains the abbreviations.
Select the file for Hancock County.

You can repeat this procedure for Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard personnel, but the results are NOT sorted by county; they are listed alphabetically. In the steps listed above, replace WWIICASARMY-ME with WWIICASNAVY-ME.
