(Several words/sentences unreadable) --tify and declare that sometime in the month of August A.D. One Thousand Seven Hundred & Seventynine I lived with my Father Archibald Heney at a place then called Baggaduce in County of Lincoln now called Penobscot, when my Father being then absent from Home) Thomas Thompson of a place called Deer Island in said County of Lincoln came with a number of Others to my Fathers House; and seeing my Mother in the House told her, That He came to take away my Fatheršs Cattle. upon which my Mother intreated him not to be so cruel, as to deprive the Family of their whole Stock to which he answered he would not take the whole, but would have a (part?), and went out compelling me to go with him & his associates and collected together one Yoke of Oxen & Two heifers. (Two and 1/2 lines crossed out.) and leaving them to the care of his Company, he took me by Water to an Island belonging to my Father called Sheep Island. & landing there with two or three persons I was a Stranger, he and they fired at some sheep that were there & killed five of them & (?) them into the boat which carried us to the Island & proceeded on Shore to the house of One John Condon, where (stricken out) the Cattle had been brought by those who had assisted said Thompson in carrying them away, where said Condon & one John Douglass, with said Thompson took the charge of them and carryed them I know not where away then they told me I might go home. I accordingly left them I further say that said Condon was of the party that at first took away the Cattle as aforesaid.

The within named William Heney personally appeared and having been duly cautioned to testify the whole truth and nothing but the truth and carefully examined respecting the same made oath to the truth of the within written Deposition taken at the Request of Archibald Heney of Penobscot in the County of Lincoln Yeoman. To be used in an Action or plea of Trespass to be heard & tried at the Supreme Judicial Court next to be holden at Pownalborough. For and within the said County of Lincoln on the second Tuesday next following the fourth Tuesday of June current (?) on which action of pleas said Archibald Heney is appellant & the within named Thomas Thompson of Deer Island in said County of Lincoln Yeoman is appellee. He the said Thomas Thomas Thompson [sic] living more than twenty miles from the place of the Caption of this deposition was not notified thereof nor was He present at it; and the said Deponent living more than thirty miles from the place of of [sic] Trial is the Reason of the Taking of this Testimony
