Maine State Organization Daughters of the American Revolution
invite you to experience
the largest women's patriotic organization in the world!
With over 165,000 members, nearly 3,000 chapters in all 50
states, and 11 foreign countries,
Dar has long promoted patriotism through
commemorative events, memorials, scholarships, activities and programs.
Exploring your Heritage?
Think you have an ancestor who may have served during the American
Revolution?
Did you know DAR accepts proven lineage to those who served in many
different capacities,
including patriotic and civil service, NOT JUST patriots on the
battlefield or on the sea!
Was your ancestor a town clerk, selectman, constable, or surveyor of
highways?
Did he sign an Oath of Allegiance?
Or maybe he was a minister who gave a sermon supporting the American
cause. . .
JOIN US as
a Guest and experience DAR.
YOU
can be a part of this wonderful organization
and promote patriotism, historical research
and love of country through our numerous programs.
Some programs include Veterans Affairs, Genealogy, Women's Issues,
Conservation, Literacy, Friends of the Library, and so much more.
You're sure to find programs of interest within our
committees!
Serving
Somerset County communities in the greater Skowhegan area,
our members hail from Canaan, Cornville, Jackman,
Lexington Twp, Madison, Moscow,
Norridgewock, North Anson, Pittsfield, Skowhegan, Smithfield and
beyond!
Watch for
our meeting notice in the local newspaper!
