Mayo Grave

                          Salem, ME

                Located on the property of Steve Viles, this single

                    stone looks more like a property corner marker

                    than a grave stone.  The property owner has the

                    square marker and trees around it flagged with pink

                    survey flagging.

                      Mayo, Isaac

                         Burnt May 18

                         Died May 19 1870

                       (writing is fairly primitive - probably done by a

                        family member or friend)

                    Notes from Freeman History says Isaac also has a

                    marker in the Starbird Corner Cemetery, where his

                    wife is buried.  But someone has done some research,

                    and the Viles family feels that Isaac is truly buried there

                    on his property.  The ground shows an indentation that

                    would verify that.
