The ALLEN family:
Samuel Allen came to Gorham, Maine, about 1829. He was the son of Jacob
Allen of Scarborough. He married Mary C. McLellan on May 6, 1829. Mary was
the daughter of William and Mehitable McLellan. Their children were:
Alexander, born 12/15/1830. Married Mary W. McLellan 6/19/1858.
John, born 6/15/1833. Married Amanda Small.
Almira E., born 4/7/1836 and died 10/3/1855.
William M., born 7/13/1839. Married 1st M. Decker, 2nd Mattie McKenney.
William died 2/12/1896.
George B., born 7/8/1847 and died 8/7/1848.
George A., born 1/22/1850. Married Eva Paine.
Eunice S., born 1854 and died 9/1/1856.
The YOUNG family:
From Wellfleet MA to Gorham ME came JOSHUA YOUNG, JOSHUA YOUNG JR., and JOSEPH YOUNG. They were in Gorham as early as 1779. Not much is known of JOSHUA YOUNG. But, JOSHUA YOUNG JR. married a Sarah (last name unknown) at Wellfleet. They had 1 son: Joshua, born in Wellfleet on 13 Nov 1775. It is also assumed that they had a daughter, DEBORAH who married DANIEL MARSTON of Pownal ME on 27 Feb 1789. JOSHUA YOUNG JR married for a second time on June 13, 1779, to Sarah Irish, daughter of John Irish and Sarah (?). Joshua Jr. and Sarah had: BENJAMIN YOUNG, born in Gorham ME on 21 Jul 1780. It is also assumed that they had a son named WILLIAM YOUNG, born in 1785 and who married ABIGAIL READ. JOSHUA YOUNG III, son of Joshua Young Jr. and his first wife Sarah (last name unknown), married LYDIA SNOW, daughter of Thomas Snow and Jane (?) on 7 Nov 1793. He died in Gorham ME about 1810 and Lydia died in Gorham 9 Jul 1850 at the age of 74. Their children were:(1) Sally Young, b 15 Mar 1794, married Enos Humphrey and lived in Livermore ME. (2) Enos Young, b 20 Jul 1795, wife unknown but left 2 children.(3) Affia Young, b 17 Jul 1797, married Cyrus Blanchard of Cumberland ME on 12 May 1816.(4) Anna Young, b 7 Apr 1800, married William Clay on 7 Apr 1822.(5) Joseph Young, married Mary Green of Standish ME on 21 Mar 1824. He died in Springfield MA.(6) Jane Young, b abt 1810, married Jonathan Clay on 23 Apr 1829.

SOLOMON YOUNG married POLLY KIMBALL, daughter of Caleb Kimball and Abigail (?) on 4 Dec 1796. Their children were:(1) Katherine, b 21 Nov 1797.(2) Jesse, b 27 Jun 1800.- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The WORCESTER family:
THOMAS WORCESTER, son of George Worcester and Margaret (Clements) Worcester of Berwick ME and Somersworth NH, appears in Gorham ME about 1800. He married after coming to Gorham to SUSANNA EDWARDS, daughter of Richard Edwards and Hannah Lothrop. He died 19 Mar 1845 and Susanna died 15 Sep 1874. Children were:(1) Betsey, b 20 Oct 1800, m William Blanchard of Gardiner ME on 14 Jan 1819.(2) George, b 30 Oct 1802, m Patience Penfield on 15 Nov 1826 and lived inPortland ME.(3) Louisa, b 20 Nov 1804, m John M. Parker on 3 Jun 1825.(4) James L., b 22 Aug 1807, drowned in Morris mill pond on 31 Jul 1825.(5) Thomas, b 22 Oct 1809.(6) Lothrop, b 15 Apr 1812.(7) Martha Ann, b 9 Sep 1819, m John H. Roberts 8 Dec 1850.
