James Ridley b Truro, MA. 06 Febuary, 1717/18 son of Thomas and Mary (Strout) Ridley: d Harpswell 14 July 1797 killed by lightning: m (1): Truro MA, 30 March 1738 Ruth Smalley, b Truro, MA. January 1718/19 dau of Daniel and Sarah Smalley. m (2): Truro MA, 17 September 1753 Mary (Smalley) Bowie, b Truro, MA. October 1721 dau of Samuel and Isabel (Dyer) Smalley. He moved to Great Island [Sebascodigan Island], Harpswell in 1752.

Ann .....b 28 December 1740. One Ann Ridley "owned the covenant" and had a son John baptized 19 June 1768 in Truro, MA. One Miss Ann Ridley of Wellfleet married Joseph Linckhornew of Eastham on 23 Nov 1769 in Wellfleet, MA. It is speculated that Ann Ridley's son, John, may have been John Monroe, b"Indian Island" 1760. The father is said to have d when John was just a baby and the mother lived in or around Truro, MA. John was bound to Capt. James Lombard of Truro and later Athol, MA. living with that family until age 16 when he enlisted in the Revolutionary War. He removed to Pennfield N.B. Revolutionary War Pension (#W24022).
