We are pleased to announce Roxanne Moore Saucier, the Bangor Daily News columnist for "Family Ties, Genealogy, History." Her discussion of "Tracing Sarah Palin's Ancestry - Maine to Alaska" should prove very interesting.
The gathering is open to everyone. You don't have to be a member of the society to attend. Refreshments will be available.

Genealogy for Kids Day
will be held Friday, April 23, 2010, between the hours of 11:00-12:30 in the Children's Story Room at the Bangor Public Library. It is open to all children between the age of 8 - 14. A Bangor Public Library staff member will provide a guided tour of the "Bangor Room" to show what is available, how to use the microfilm, card catalog and how to start climbing their family tree to preserve memories for the future. Refreshments will be served.

The PCGS Cookbook Committee is pleased to announce that the Penobscot County Genealogical Society Family Cookbook is now available for purchase. A great birthday or anytime gift, the cookbook, with its eye-catching cover and favorite family recipes, is priced at $8 plus $3 to cover shipping and handling for each book ordered. To order your copy (or copies), please send your check or money order to PCGS c/o Bangor Public Library, 145 Harlow Street, Bangor ME 04401.
The cookbook may also be purchased by contacting us at pcgscooks2@msn.com or calling (207) 862-4785. Arrangements can be made to pick up your order at the Bangor Public Library at a specified date and time thereby eliminating shipping costs. It will also be available at regular PCGS meetings.
