KNOX, MAINE CEMETERIES

East Knox Cemetery

(Located on Rte. # 137, going east, approximately 2 miles from Knox Center, going east – left hand side of the road.)

The East Knox Cemetery list was originally copied in October 1972 by Carolyn Balentyne and Kay Jackson. The cemetery stones were “read” by Priscilla R. Walker and Henry Boulter, two of the cemetery commissioners, in 1983. Priscilla Walker has added the burials since 1975 as an “Update” to the list.

A photo copy of the Cemetery List was obtained from the Town Clerk of Knox on 8 October 2004 and when asked if a copy could be placed on the Internet, she said there was no reason why not as the information was “Public Knowledge”.

The original List Format was followed as close as possible, using the same spellings, abbreviations and groupings. Comments in (- - -) are original; comments in
[ - - - ] were made by Clayton D. Hutchins, researching the descendants of Henry HUTCHINGS, who copied the list onto his computer.

[All information regarding this cemetery was provided by Clayton D. Hutchins on the 27th day of October, 2004]
