my ancestors and Waldo Co.? My ancestor Hannah COGSWELL
shipwrecked aboard the Angel Gabriel at Pemaquid Pt. ME
on 1635 and then married my ancestor Cornelius WALDO in
Chelmsford MA in 1652, but I have no history on Cornelius
WALDO before that except he came from London. Was he from

Lincolnville in about 1814. Their children were
William(b.1816), Sarah, Pauline, Mary and Hannah. May 3, 1998 April 25,
1998 COLMAN.
I would like to find out some information on my great
great grandfather. I believe his name is Elijah
Coleman (Colman) Dec, 1844. His wife names was
Lizzie Dec 1848, he had a son named Arthur Feb 1870,
daughter in law Hattie Carlon May 1869, grandson Robert
Arthur Oct 1899, grand daughter Thelma, a daughter Ethel
Sept 1876, who married an Emery, she had two children,
Carl, May 1898, and Hazel, Aug 1899. I obtained this
information from the 1900 census of Waldo County Stockton
Springs. He was a farm laborer, His son Arthur was a
salmon fisherman. According to the census ? Elijah father
came from Mass. Which could have been Maine territory
just before Maine became a state. He lived in the harbor
in Searsport. Next to the old Harbor school. Which has
since burnt down. What I need to know is that Elijah was
his correct first name. Lizzie's last name so I can try
to follow it back further. I know that I do have a lot of
information so hopefully someone can help me.Thank you
for your time and cooperation. SMITH. Looking for a
Manual SMITH who married a Sarah RAYMOND.
They had a daughter who married Josiah Seekins of
Swanville, ME in 1803. --- I can find no trace of them in
the 1820 - 1830 or 1840 cenus, however I find a head of
household Sarah SMITH in Castine, 1820. I thought she may
be the widow of Manual, but she appears to be younger
than the above Sarah (Raymond) SMITH. ?? Any SMITH or
RAYMOND family researchers in Maine that someone could
point me to? Has anyone run across the name of Manual
SMITH? A look at the census index for Maine tells me that
tracing the family name SMITH in Maine is no easy task!
-- Another "remote" clue -- He "may"
have come to Maine from New Brunswick? Thanks March 22, 1998 HOLLIS: Moses Hollis

any record of my g.g. grandfather Elisha T. Ellis,
born 1815 in Maine, moved to Illinois in the 1840's.
There is a Elisha Ellis listed in Monroe, Maine in the
1840 Maine census, but I cannot be sure it is him.
He may have had a relative that came with him to Illinois
name Mirriam. The age listing for the 1840 census looks
like it could be him, but the census is just too vague.
