The 4th Michigan Volunteer Infantry Gravestone Picture and Locating Project
We would like to thank Rootsweb for hosting this site.
This website is dedicated to the soldiers who served with the 4th Michigan Volunteer Infantry from the years 1861-1864, known as “The Old 4th Michigan”, and the years 1864-1865, known as “The Reorganized 4th Michigan.”
All listings use the 1st letter of the surname and are alphabetical with the first page containing letters A-L and the second page containing letters M-Z. The third page has cemetery gate pictures (where available) to help aid anyone who wishes to locate the cemetery.Click on the picture to see a larger version.
Some soldiers have more than one picture for their listing due to them having a family stone, a military stone, or a cenotaph. (Cenotaph: is a stone placed to honor a soldier, but in name only and no actual remains.)
The Reorganized 4th soldiers are noted with (RO).
Please note that this is an ongoing project that will be updated when new information is found. If you wish to submit a photo or information to be added to this site, please contact jadtreefrog@yahoo.com.
