The George Fletcher Library has done a wonderous thing and set up a genealogy question email. While this is NOT a "please do research for me" system, feel free to send them an email on whether or not a book exists, they have it, questions about the area, etc.
Alpena County Library is a member of the Northland Interlibrary System, a resource sharing consortium that includes public, school, community college and special libraries. Books, magazines and other library materials from these libraries are listed on the NLC Catalog.

Also, the microfilm collection of the Alpena County Library EXTENSIVE and of great value to the researcher doing research in Alpena and surrounding counties. The microfilm collection is not indexed online but you can view it HERE.
