Some early township officials: Elisha Brace (supervisor and justice of the peace), Thomas L. VanGelsen (clerk), Levi Rowley (treasurer), Asahel Hawkins (assessor and justice of the peace), Daniel Beers (assessor and justice of the peace), Ira H. Elsworth (assessor), and S. D.
